So, I have this Muslim friend who told me about the word “Inshallah,” meaning “if Allah wills it” or “God-willing” in Arabic; a common phrase. & apparently, colloquially, there are two “meanings!”
1) The Arab Inshallah – sardonic.
Like, “You should come some time to meet my mother!” “Uh, yeah, sure, inshallah.”
2) The Muslim Inshallah – sincere.
Used more interchangeably w/ the phrases “I hope so” or “I’ll really try.”

Just thought that was kind of funny…. b/c she also said that sometimes, after saying “Inshallah,” people will specifically have to clarify what they just said, like, “Inshallah – the Muslim one!” Haha.

so, in essence, what you’re saying is the arabs have more of a humor sense?
